How to Care for Printed T-Shirts and Hoodies
Share
Good everyday care helps T-shirts and hoodies stay ready for repeat wear. The care label on your garment is always the final instruction, but a few simple habits can help you look after both the fabric and the printed design.
Check the care label first
Care instructions can vary by garment, fabric and finish. Before your first wash, read the label and follow the guidance supplied with that item. It is the best reference for temperature, drying and ironing.
Wash with the print protected
Turn printed garments inside out before washing. This reduces rubbing against other items in the wash. Where the care label allows, choose a lower-temperature wash and avoid overfilling the machine, so the garment can move freely rather than being pressed tightly against zips or rough fabrics.
Be thoughtful with heat
High heat can be tough on clothing over time. Follow the drying guidance on the label, and avoid ironing directly over a printed design. If ironing is suitable for the garment, turn it inside out or use a protective layer between the iron and the print.
